Digital Technologies in the Classroom

I would prefer to teach in a classroom with more digital technologies because I would want the students in my class to have different ways to learn and understand the information I am giving. If I did have a lot of digital technologies in my classroom I would need to know how to work each one to my best ability so I could explain correct information to my students in the best way possible. For example using a touch screen in my class would be a really good way to get my students involved in the lesson I have planned for the day. Plus, it would also be exciting for them, which means they would want to learn more and be excited about learning. I think that having more technologies in the classroom can benefit to every student and all the different ways that they learn. It would also help with them knowing how to use different technologies for the future.

Audiovisual Technologies

One traditional audio technology is the talking book. It could be used in my early childhood class because I could use it to read stories or have my students read along with it. It could be very helpful if a student is having a hard time with a word, they can hear it in the recording and it will help them understand how to say whatever word they are having problems with.
One emerging audio technology is the Internet audio. It could be very helpful if I only need a certain part of a story or music for my lesson plan. It would be helpful for my students to understand something better. If I am trying to explain something to them putting it in another way with audio might be helpful to students that learn in different ways.
One traditional visual technology is printed materials. This could be helpful in my classroom because I can print off information I want my students to know or to learn. For example I could print of sheets for learning the alphabet. Then they can turn them in when they are done and it will help me understand where they are at in learning the letters.
One emerging visual technology is documented cameras. This could be used in multiple ways in my classroom. It captures a live video image of a document or object then plays it back. I could use this to help my students learn how to write letters from the alphabet and play it back as many times as needed. Also I can take a picture of an image that can't be brought into the classroom and have it tied into my lesson plan.
